National Academy Ocean Shot: Ocean Science for Ocean Worlds

In response to the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Ocean Sustainability, the National Academies has solicited a series of “Ocean-Shots ” - ambitious, transformational research concepts that draw inspiration and expertise from multiple disciplines and fundamentally advance ocean science for sustainable development.  NOW has joined the family of ocean shots that has been endorsed through this initiative, “Ocean Science for Ocean Worlds” to bringing together a new community of Earth, Ocean and Planetary scientists to explore how oceans function elsewhere in our Solar System and to provide fresh perspectives on how essential the oceans are to maintaining a healthy climate and sustaining life on our own planet.
